Nearly 60% of the Top 30 Under 30 List Have Studied Abroad

Forbes Vietnam has just announced the 30 Under 30 list – the top 30 most outstanding individuals under 30 in Vietnam for 2018.

This is the third time Forbes Vietnam has compiled a list honoring young faces who are active in various fields, having a positive impact in their industries and areas of work in Vietnam.
This year’s list, in addition to young entrepreneurs and founders of startups with remarkable success, also includes outstanding individuals in the fields of arts, entertainment, creativity, and sports.
Alongside young people engaged in social activities, there are scientists playing key roles in making breakthroughs in cutting-edge research sectors of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
90% of the individuals on the list have a university, college, or postgraduate education. When asked to choose key characteristics to describe themselves, the prominent traits selected by these young people were: risk-taking, setting high standards, being ambitious, and having ideals.
Success, for them, means loving what they do and fully utilizing their potential; very few chose fame, and none chose money to describe their success.
Statistics show that over 60% of those on this year’s Forbes Vietnam 30 Under 30 list were educated at universities abroad. Most have returned to work in Vietnam, while some are working overseas but remain strongly committed to contributing to Vietnam’s development.
While those in the entertainment industry build their careers and influence from the domestic environment, where the demand for entertainment is high, scientists have found foreign countries—especially major U.S. tech companies—to be the best environments to develop their capabilities.
