The summer programs at top U.S. universities provide high school students with the opportunity to experience college life in a university environment. The programs are designed to help students explore suitable majors, equip themselves with necessary skills, and better prepare for their university admission journey.
Students can register for residential programs, attending lectures in the morning and participating in campus activities in the afternoon. At the end of the summer program, students receive certificates or evaluation reports from their instructors. These are “passports” that can help them score points with universities in the future.
“Top universities provide excellent resources, from learning materials, an environment of academic freedom and creativity, to teaching resources. The connections within the university are also a great asset of Harvard, which students should learn to leverage,” shared Trần Đức Cảnh, Harvard University Admissions Advisor and member of the Intercollegiate Council of the Northeast Massachusetts Region.
In addition to the advantage of modern facilities and a high-quality academic environment, top universities also help students make excellent friends and provide opportunities to interact with famous alumni, scholars, scientists, and reputable leaders in the classroom.
Summer study abroad is also an opportunity for students to live and study in a fully native English-speaking environment. This allows them to regularly use and improve their language skills.
The summer study abroad program is organized by NEEC in collaboration with top 100 U.S. high schools and universities. Vietnamese students aged 14-17 who want to experience a learning environment and better prepare for their university path can participate.
The summer program combines English language teaching, standardized test preparation, some career-oriented specialized subjects, life skills, extracurricular activities, and tours of schools and cities. Students study 2-3 hours per day, 5 days a week. Each class consists of 15-20 international students.
